Alien Rampage is a good (but rather difficult) action-platform game that boasts 5 level of multi-parallax scrolling, great visuals with large sprites, smooth controls and lots of gore. It was released exclusively for the PC (MS-DOS) systems in 1996, by SoftDisk Publishing.

Alien RampageSTORY / GAMEPLAY
Once more, your land is threatened by alien species (quite original huh?). You are a mighty warrior who has at his disposal seven different weapons. Your main goal is to fight your way through several forest and jungle platforms swarmed by alien monsters like flame breathing snails, laser wielding lizard men and some more hazards! Your ammunition is limited but you may find more by spending collected coins (found from the dead bodies of your enemies) and some scattered little men in a cloak. Along the way, you will spot some Moogs (the local slaves) and you must free them from captivity. In return, those guys will grant you with valuable help, like opening locked doors or activating lifts in places where you cannot reach the related activation buttons. In general, Alien Rampage plays much like the Blackthorne and the Flashback games, so it needs some skills to complete.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The visuals look great with a load of (kinda dark) colors, 5 levels of parallax scrolling and impressive character animations.Apart from its visuals, Alien Rampage also offers some nice and sampled sound effects (but unfortunately no in-game music). The game is compatible with the most advanced sound hardware of its time, including the awesome Soundblaster AWE32 and the Gravis Ultrasound.
